prime is the only way to go, not to mention a little prime goes farther than the other options.
As far as the hose, you could just get the shorter kit, go over to your local hardware store and buy some hose clamps and however much of the same diameter hose and probably save a decent amount of $$$

by the way that prime stuff is really expensive, does it work well?

A bottle of prime treats a LOT more water than a bottle of stresscoat.

Different types of prime? I think there is only one.

One cap of prime treats 50 gl. One cap of stresscoat only treats 10 gl.

I am willing to bet that 95%+ of the people on this site use prime and a python for w/c's. It's the only way to keep big tanks and not work 24 hours a day doing so. You'll be so happy you ordered one you'll prolly go buy another tank just cuz of the extra "hobby time" you'll find yourself having. I did

i am extremely excited for when it comes!
i was not so excited that i had 2 buy a sponge filter for the growout tank im setting up, (i wanted my convicts 2 breed so bad until they actually did, now i have like like 150 1/4 inch frys!)but the stuff i got there was still much cheaper than wut i wud pay at my lfs
