A goldfish tank with dirt? I would think that would be horribly messy the way they constantly plow through the substrate. In nature it just settles. In a tank it's going to load up your filters.

I love my goldfish to bits! Everyone has such beautiful goldfish! And all mine are munted... Oh well, I love them anyway!
I just invested in a 7000ltr (apprx 1600gal give or take) pool/pond for them. The landlord didn't want a pond dug into the yard but doesn't mind a small pool with fish in it above ground sooo... Loop hole!!! My goldfish get an upgrade!
I'll try to get pics later if it stops raining, I tried the other day when I put them in but they've got so much room in there and look so small that it was hard for me to keep the camera on them, they're hard enough to get pictures of in a 250ltr tank let alone a 7000ltr pool...

I got 3 fancies in a 40 currently. Had em for about two years. LOVE EM!
love goldfish but dont keep them anymore. i used to be into the expensive fancy ones. literally spent a few thousands buying quality golfish.
I'm OK with normal goldfish or comets or koi but when it comes to some of those "fancies" ......I would have culled anything that looked so deformed!
Not REALLY Goldfish but technically still the same thing, here are a few we caught this SeptemberI love my one goldfish tank a lot. I was wondering if anyone else had some nice goldfish they wanted to show off as well? Here's my Oranda and Lion Head goldfish.
