Anyone else enjoy maintenance day?

Well today is wednesday, and that means its time to get all my tank maintenance done. 120+ gallons to change, filters to clean, and sand to siphon. It's a day that in all honestly I seem to look forward to every week. Nothing like looking in and seeing a nice clean tank and happy fish. Even though it takes up a good chunk of my day off, I find it to be enjoyable and very rewarding. Anyone else feel this way?
 
My 230 gallon takes me 2 hours, 55 takes 30. I change 75-90% once a week. It's a chore to me.
 
I kinda dig the tank maintenance, yet it is an ongoing thing for me with the tanks I have.

I like the personal interaction with the fish, though I know that some of them are saying they would eat me if I was small enough :)
 
me too, i love seeing cystal clear water and happy fish flying around the tank.... takes me about an hour to do both tanks

Yah my roommate and I end up doing this every time we clean our 240. Mainly because we can never remember exactly how we had the driftwood laid out when we go to put it all back in. We find though it helps to keep aggression down as no fish gets enough time to really claim their territory. The most aggression we see is when the oscar tries to bite our hand if we don't feed him before cleaning.

For a full cleaning I find it takes about the same amount of time. I do however consider this to be very short when you consider how often its actually being done. I'm sure you could look at your week and figure there is 2-3 extra hours of TV your watching, video games your playing or sleep that your getting. It's all about priorities and I find it's much more rewarding to look at happy healthy fish than to sit on the couch watching pointless reality tv.

It never ends but it's still fun. A lot of times our oscar will come screaming toward my hand when I reach in. I end up reaching toward him and petting him on the head and he just looks at me like WTF…. every once in a while he will get me but only a few times have I seen him break skin, and even then, its more of a scratch than a cut.

an hour is pretty impressive. What size tanks you have? I find an hour is bare minimum on our 240 but usually take a little longer to make sure we get all the poops, and make sure the filter gets nice and clean.
 
WC and fish stuff is more fun than going out with girls!
