As packed as my tank is Im going to worried about ammonia spikes and also since my tank is in a cool unfinished basement heat loss then 02. So far no one is really predicting any poweroutages but if they do I think its time to invest in a genorater.

Islander, I have a deal pending on the NTT, but if it falls through you interested?

YES!! lol..pm'd you.

Ive never had any concerns w/ heatloss in emergencies. but as a thought, would having styrofoam help to maintain the heat? like building an upside down box to fit over your tanks?

yep. we're getting it right now. there are accidents all over the place and 5 within one mile of one another. It isnt suppose to stop snowing for a week according to weather.com:nilly: I am glad it is the weekend and I dont have to go anywhere, but I agree, its going to suck if something happens to the power...well, except for the gar ;) they usually will be fine for atleast a little while without heat and filtration...we have about 3 air bubblers and 5 tanks...and I don;t even think we have enough batteries for all of them...Man I wasnt prepared, but Im not going out with these idiots on these roads. I guess there is a salt shortage here, so they are picking and choosing where and when to lay salt...thats pretty messed up if you ask me.
