YES!! lol..pm'd you.

Ive never had any concerns w/ heatloss in emergencies. but as a thought, would having styrofoam help to maintain the heat? like building an upside down box to fit over your tanks?

PM replied to.

My basement is like 55-60 and I have over 1000watts worth of heaters turned all the way up and I can barely manage 84. If power goes out, for heat I will cover the tank with all the blankets I can spare. I will monitor my water quality and start doing w/c if I have to.

We got 14 inches in my part of Arkansas. But luckily no power outages and the snow is starting to melt.

Snow in March is weird for Arkansas.

I went out this morning to the store in Florence Kentucky and saw no less than 5 cars in ditches. If we get the full 12" it'll be like the end of times.

On a side note....I just ordered a 9 foot Plugging Surf Rod to fish the Ohio below a spillway outside of Cincinnati. I need a longer rod for the extra distance. I'm just waiting for the Wiper to start backing up below the dam.

I feel bad for all you guys in the midwest and eastern states... I mean, we have 3 feet of snow outside and are getting another foot tonight, but at least we have the infrastructure to handle it. It's pretty much just a minor inconvenience up here... although my GAWD this had been a long winter!

Perhaps you guys might want to stop feeding for a few days and do a massive water change when you expect a poweroutage?

Hope everything works out!!!

Agreed, one thing to think about is when buying a generator, consider how LOUD it is.

Mine was so loud that it had to be turned off at night because of the neighbors! :irked:
