^ agreed with F1vet... The bamboo shrimp have really soft shells and crays will most likely destroy them before long...

I think I figured out why no one else has RED bamboo's !
from what I found on the webs...mine is a flower shrimp
interesting that they feed the same and look alot alike.

We have had a few over the years, our current remaining one is bright bright red like the one in the OP's pic.
..but we found "vampire shrimp" Atya gabonensis, they are larger and are really amusing ^_^...we now have 3 in our 55g planted tank.

when i search "flower shrimp" I get Atyopsis moluccensis..witch is a bamboo shrimp ..so its the same thing.

..we feed a variety of things ..we also dose the tank with plant ferts so maybe it had something to do with water chemistry ..or genetics, who knows.
mine is pretty red as well. i think most of them turn red after a while if they feel comfortable and get enough food
