Anyone else in Texas???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tahnks for the tips.

Fintique is probably the best with oddballs. they're definetely the best with prices. I like Texas Marine and Tropical also. They are right down the road from eachother. Alamo Aquatics on Bandera is ok as well. Only three though for a city the size of San Antonio is pitiful. I've seen 1 mbu at alamo, they wanted 180$, one at TM&T 130$. ......

dave's is armke's right??

not big into the cichlids... but his sydontis are bad ass

thanks for the advice

Yes, Dave bought Armkes, you should still at least call to see about other possibilities, other than the main stay cichlids. I'm pretty sure he has many connections to "all most anything" from all over the world, just call him & ask about what ever your looking for, what's the worst he could say sorry, can't help you.

To make it easiest, what are you looking for specifically? Have you chkd into buying & having fish shipped to you? Seems that what most of us have to do round here, which means the best place to start would be the MFK vendor forum. If you can't find what you want there, then make sure & let us know if you do somewhere else. :) :) :)

A brand new store just opened up in Arlington called The True Percula. I went last week to check it out and it was AMAZING. Great prices, tons of tanks, and a really knowledgeable staff. Definitely check it out.

I would say don't bother with Dallas North Aquarium. They're generally overpriced, their livestock is often unhealthy, and the staff can be just plain rude :irked: I used to go there before I realized that almost every store in the metroplex was better. They do have good deals on used tanks, though.

in san antonio they have fintique's,alamo aqutics, and texas tropical, and more i prefer texas tropical.got my newest fish from there, a gold clownknife and unlike some fish stores they will give you 25% of fish cost when you bring fish in

Just another example of differing opinions! I will agree with you about True Percula, their staff is awesome. Plus they have a handsome selection of discus. But, to me at least, that's as far as their zeal goes. They do have other fish, but none are special.

I live in the Houston area and I like The Fish Gallery located off of Kirby and Highway 59. They used to have one in Dallas but it is closed right now because it caught on fire.

My favorite lfs is their sister store...The Fish Gallery on Greenville Ave.
