I've had my tiger moray for about 6 months now, recently moved him into the 400g but I think he might be eating the tiger barbs (im down to 9 of the original 18, but still have all the congo tetra's and cory cats, along with the baby bristlenose and baby calvus that likes to share the driftwood his in, I haven't personally seen him take a fish). He was happily taking pellets before I moved him into the new tank but I will admit I have not personally seen him eat any after the move (I make sure to put some into the log he hides in to keep them away from the other fish)

I also found this video:
with one kept with rosy barbs, small plecos, and even shrimp, and apparently as of 2 months ago its been well over a year and it isn't predating on anything.

So is he selectively targeting tiger barbs over everything else? What I was looking up before I bought him seemed to show he'd be alright with other fish but on the other hand somethings going on with the barbs.

Sounds like the lfs or vendor probably was feeding the Moray live goldfish feeder.
Years ago had a Snowflake Moray that would catch and eat goldfish feeders.

Just about any moray will eat what it can catch.
That said it may be the tigers killing each other off, they are notorious for whittling down their own schools.

the thing that makes me doubt its the eel is just that there seem to be, IMO, far easier targets that it could be going for. Like the albino cory school for example, most of them are blind (they were rescues, a lot of them are either missing one or both of their eyes) or the baby calvus cichlid, which isnt much bigger than the barbs, that quite literally lives in his cave with him.

One of the barbs is also missing an eye, so maybe they're doing it to themselves. I knew they could be aggressive but didnt think the school would self destruct

Bigger schools tend not to destroy themselves, but it is still a risk.
