that is cool. mine is now eating from my hand! i didnt expect a wild fish to do that.

If you whant to have some fun take skraps of chicken or turky( a great time to stok up is during the holidays). Then hold the fairly good sied strip and put you hand in the tank. After I first showed this to my friend they now refur to them as piranhas.

Yeah this fish lets me pet her and will eat straight from my hand. Not to bashful at all.

My largemouth lets me grab him completely in my hand. I could catch him without a net if I needed to. He loves brushing by my hand.

Same her the domonat male and female let me rub them. They will dart over to the front of the tank when I come by. Are yous wild Derpeder? becuse mine are.

I had one a fyew years ago he/she/it was mean as he11. It poured out of an irrigation pipe from a canal between the grapes (along with the usual tadpoles. it was about 2 inches i had no clue what it was at the time, threw it in with some assorted african chchlids of similar size. it grew fast and took over the 30gl in a month. i put it in with a co workers red bellies by then it was about 4in they were about 2. I moved and found later the redbellies killed my fish about 4 months after!

These guys are so great! if i get real close to my tank and stare at them, they will swim up to my face and just look at me. they have the most personality out of any fish ive kept.

yeah...wild.

pumpkinseeds I've found to be agressive to other fish if kept in small spaces (like an aquarium under 75 gallons)

The only fish that they aren't as agressive towards are other sunfish and bass (lm and sm) (probably because they are in the same family)

I did have a striper and a bluegill live together happily in a 55 though. (that was a long time ago. I gave them both away)

PS Aren't all pumpkinseeds that people keep wild? They don't breed very well in aquariums.

i was wandering that too. i never heard of captive breading them.
