Anyone ever attempted to build an automate glass cleaner?

i have a goldfish that cleans up after my pleco... the goldfish chews up the footlong ropes and the filtration takes care of the rest... its wonderful

I have 2 Plecos in my 20 G and they don't scrape the glass all that well. I highly doubt putting a large one in my 500 G would yield mmuch of a result. I have a gigantic magnet about the size of your palm but it too has limitation.

That's why I don't see any pleco poop in my tank :eek:

yep i agree they do work great! but i only use that for the 55g cause my royal pleco is lazy. it seems to eat the algae wafers only. ive only seen him on the aquarium glass once out of the 2 years ive had him.

if you feed algea waffers stop for a little bit and hell eventually go back to algea hes just spoiled. my does that too
 
here an idea

Get some windshield wipers, and a moter. and let it do all the work.

algea isnt a bad thing. if u dont want to clean it. get some chinese algea eaters, or something that loves algea. IE not common plecos
