Anyone Ever Bred any of these African Malawi Cichlids?!!

Go with what you like.dont worry about whats in demand,it changes too fast.Fish I couldnt give away 3 years ago are now fetching high prices,others that were in demand last year are now everywhere for dirt cheap.By the time you raise fry from fish you get today,the market will have changed.
 
great outlook...I should stick with that from now on. I do want the white tops but I have heard that the Jalo Reef type are rare and I would like to have those more...if I can't find them before I make a trip to the breeders in a few weeks I'll settle for the white tops..lovely fish:)
 
I would go with the Jalo Reef myself.

What breeder are you going to?
 
Jalo reefs are very nice. I just like the white top hara female more. But mine are in a display tank so that just matters more to me :)
 
i take it the white top females are more colorful than the jalo reef females?
I go to a guy named Irvin Bagley, he owns and operates Into Cichlids in Terra Haute. My parents live not too far from their out at Heritage Lake so I'll be goin to visit them then goin out to Terra Haute and comin back with some fish. I think I will go with the cyn. haras...now I just need to think of one other type of fish to breed.....too many to name...I wish I could breed some fossochromis rostratus or some champs but they are way too big:(
 
I find the white top hara females are nicer looking than most other cyno females. They have a nice blue/purple color.

I'm not sure about jalo females. I saw some in person and they were brown but I recently saw a spawning video and the female in the video had similar males colors just not as bright. It may of been because they were spawning. My female haras can take on full male colors when they want to(usually while holding).
 
anyone bred Placidochromis Johnstoni? a nearby breeder is selling a group of 5 (1m + 4F) for $70. they range from 3-4". The picture of the male he has is amazing.
