Anyone ever have that feeling of being overwhelmed, and feel like they just want to sell the tnak and the fish and never look back again?

Everynow and then i get that feeling, two reasons is its extremely hard to do wc on mine, no hose reaches my tank (72g), so i cant do that, i basically have to cary water from one end of the house to the other in a little half gallon jug, takes near 2 hours to do a 50% wc, then if i have an outbreak of bacteria, ich, etc, it takes a lot longer.

The other reason is its extremely hard finding a tankmate for my single 6' Delhezi. I tried other poly's, but they ate his fins, tried catfish, but he attacked them.. next try will be 2-3 Balas...

Anyone else have these experiences, like they just want to quit fish keeping all together?

you could always try a bigger bucket such a a 5gallon pail, that is how I do my water changes. As for tank mates try a large herbivore they you won't have to worry about them attacking him and if they are bigger then him he should try to eat them.

72g, imagine what the people have to go through with there 200g+ tanks, and most people us syphons with hoses atached going right to there sinks.

The only reason i sometime want to give up is because my mom has such a cow every time i get a fish and i feel like what the point if the only person like my tank is my G-ma...:irked: :(

I have felt like just getting rid of everthing but its usually after I lose a fish thats special to me. But I could never get the kind of cash i paid for all my stuff. Try a severum with your del there pretty good tankmates for lower level fish

Go to home depot, they have all the hoses and adapters to hook up your sink to your tank for easy drain and fill.

1/2 gallon jug? That's crazy! A syphon system like the python is definitely the best way to go but not knowing your financial situation, at least trade in that jug for a 5 gallon bucket. you can get a new 5 gallon bucket from home depot for about $3.
Just using a 5 gallon bucket will make a world of difference.

Uh... the problems you are having seem so small and insignificant compared to what others here have. I can think of tons of tankmates off the top of my head that would go great (SA cichlids, larger barbs and tetras, etc), and theres no such thing a hose not long enough. What did you do, walk into petco, not find what you needed, and decide "This is too hard..."?

Some one once said "don't work harder work smarter" I would say from listening to your issues that odds are there are solutions to your issues. The question is do you enjoy the animal? If you don't enjoy keeping him then by all means list him and the tank on here. I realize that despite my greatest intentions I can no longer afford the time it takes to have my red tailed boa. I'll probably list him on here in the next couple months honestly. But I love my fish and even though it takes 6 hours to do water changes on all my tanks I plan on resolving that issue after I move.

I know what you mean about not enjoying the way you keep your animal now. Step back and think, "how could I enjoy him" and if you can't answer that question for yourself then time to find him a new home.
