my parents lake had them all over a few years ago. now, i see none. dont know what happened. i put one in my tank once. lived for about 6 months. i did read some have a parasitic-fish stage so be careful. plus you have to add nutrients to the water aka mess up the tank to feed it.
Anyone ever kept mussels?

I had 2 freshwater mussels in my 200G when i was still battling a bit of the green water and they did great... then once the tank started balancing itself out the mussels started to suffer, and i have to say you better keep an eye on them... coz when they die, damn do they smell BAD (when you take it out that is)...
i have 3 freahwater calm. 2 sharkteeth and one asian clam. they didnt make it though, but my water was pretty good =0
