Anyone ever see a convict with this pattern?

I dont think they're stressed because thats how they looked at the warehouse. When I first put them in my QT tank they lightened up a lot and had their fins clamped and looked like a typical stressed cons. The next day they settled in and went back to their normal colors. Stress still wouldnt explain how their stripes are jagged and misaligned. My guess is they came from a highly inbred family which caused a slightly different mutation which is why they have the horizontal stripe and jagged/misaligned vertical stripes.

Yep they look like every other million cons I've seen..when i breed mine they had gold..like real shimmery on every bar as an outline.and some were just plain..but then again they were all bros and sisters..started with 2 ended with like700 and there still breeding at mygrandmas in a pond..lol

Those cons that had the gold outline were ones showing a different color mutation possibly just like these are.

When i go to my granyz next I'll take some pics and post then..and yes probably very very inbred..

don't look like hybrids or inbred to me, just look like regular cons maybe a little battered.

Definitely be interested in a pic.

Dont have to be highly inbred nor hybrids to have an odd mutation. Anyways doubt they're hybrids, I mean if they are... what are they hybrids with, so that ONLY the lateral line shows and nothing else?
They dont have to be highly inbred but its more likely that they are.

yea i have to agree convicts ect are a waste of time to keep for nothing else but feeders
I used to think that until I owned some. Much better than oscars

Just keep females cons separated from males cons and there's no problems. At least cons arent big sissys like oscars :grinno:

I couldn't make it to the granys..but i found a similar one uploadfromtaptalk1362509756010.jpg
