Thats true, but the sub-species is gone.
 
And the sub species had different behavior than the walleye.
 
Yeah, it is still a shame to see it gone. I was just saying that is is actually a walleye, I think many people think it is a different species.
 
I don't think many people know that it existed. I admit I don't work in an intelligent field, but most people I know don't give a rats a** about things like science, history, or math. They are much more concerned about American Idol.
 
hey ewurm, notice how small the walleyes in those pics are, being from minnesota i was raised to catch and release the lil guys, i dont think they do that much anymore, now its if you catch it, it dies, my kids will know better
 
I preach catch and release as well. it's not that I don't eat fish, and I will take a couple one pound walleyes, once in a while, but if i want fish, I buy it at the store. I caught over 300 LMB last year and didn't keep any.
