Anyone ever seen these lights before?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It says they are 800 lumens. A 4 foot T5HO bulb is 5000 lumens.

Also, the LED bulb is 40" long. You would have to modify the fixture so the end caps were close enough together.

Cool, but I do not think these would give you what you are looking for.
Basically, led strip lighting, mounted in a T5 “bulb”.
I tried a pair of strips, with the same # of LED, would equal 2 of these units, and lighting was very poor.
Looked nice in a darkened room, but not so good during the day.
What the bulk of these LED units would need for our use, would be reflectors and light focusing lenses, for each LED.
For a LED, direct replacement lighting system you can count on spending quite a few bucks.
But, the good news is, as these find more uses and become more “main stream” the cost will go down.
New technology always costs the most at introduction and always goes down with increased use.

Hey, I never said it was better (or even equivalent), I was just pointing out they're available, and checking to see what everyone's experiences were. I'm sure they probably already have some that would be much better than T5, but they'd be a lot more expensive I'm sure.
