Anyone ever try Lucid Dreaming?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't usually remember my dreams, at least not much about them. Pretty sure I have had a few lucid dreams.

Another odd thing is car brakes rarely work in my dreams.
I have a recurring theme in my dreams where I'm in my car in reverse and I can't stop it, but I never hit anything that I can remember. Not sure why I remember this a lot because as I said I don't usually remember much about my dreams.

I haven't even bothered to google lucid dreaming yet, but I have had extremely vivid dreams since I got sober years back.
Last night I was trapped on an upper floor of a hospital and there were zombies. I had a 9mm pistol and minimal ammo. It was interesting...

You can't die from dieing in a dream. I have died in dreams before and here I am to type this message. Also, lucid dreaming is not dangerous. In fact, once you get the hang of it, it's quite fun. I still can't fly in mine but I can float for a very long time over long distances, which is awesome. Are far as sitting up, walking around, and acting out your dream... that isn't from lucid dreaming. That is a whole different deal. However, if you are prone to sleep walking anyway, I'd say lucid dreaming could make it more frequent but, I don't know. Lastly, sometimes you can become not only aware that you are dreaming but you become aware of your sleep paralysis (where your body shuts down to keep you from sleep walking). It is at this point that most people encounter the "dark figure". Normally most people see a dark shadow of a person or something in the room with them. No matter how hard they try they can't move or speak (awareness of the sleep paralysis). At this point panic usually sets in. This can be a little scary but after a while, you start to get use to it. I kinda look forward to it now. The panic part still sucks but I enjoy the feeling of relief once I do wake up. A good way to start getting out of this state is starting small. instead of scream just try moaning and instead of jumping out of bed and running start by just trying to wiggle your fingers. Anyway, take advantage of this wonderful experience known as lucid dreaming and enjoy it. Have fun with it and get creative.

PS I find that if I force myself to go straight back to sleep after I wake up, I normally have better luck. I suppose it's from not being in as deep of a state of sleep.

Like I said, I will update when I have a good dream. I don't play it but has anyone heard of the game 'fallout'? It was like that. It was in the desert, there was a building behind me... It was yellow and was in ruins, basically like if someone ripped a building in half. In front of me was a blue train. I felt a bit lonely so I spawned in a man in a blue jumpsuit, a ginger/red head girl and a half man/zombie/ghoul thing from fallout and a another man in a blue jumpsuit but he had a alien blaster. He jumped on the train to escape but I shot him in the face with a revolver. We then all went on board and went to this other place in the desert. It was more of a beach, and I could see through the world. Weird....

I'm having a bit of trouble staying motivated with lucid dreaming, anyone have any tips?

The other day I had a dream that my fish tank fell through the top if the cabinet and smashed on the floor, when I woke up I actually thought it happened and had to go down stairs to check, luckily I came down to see my happy african butterfly fish begging for food :3

A little bit of an update:

I had my first lucid dream a couple of weeks ago where it was in a house/mansion and all the walls and carpet had this dark purple color to it except it looked quite nice... I was hosting a party for 8 couples and for some reason they kept disappearing and I assumed they died, Anyway I went out to the hall and did a reality check, I counted my finger but I fingers were half the length they are. As soon as I realized I put all attention on my thumbs but there was a strong force pulling me back and I then blanked out.

I had my second lucid dream last night. It was in a christmas town and I decided to do a reality check and I had 6 fingers! I spawned in a few things that I can't remember. It was good though. :)
