well, i was fishing today and caught some bass and bluegills. i released almost all of my catches except for one bluegill. It's eyes kinda of got hooked real bad so i didnt think it would survive. Later i fed it to my piranhas, and they ate everypart of it. EVERY part. Never saw such an intense feeding in my life either. I washed the bluegill very well before feeding it. I know it still might have internal parasites, but i thought piranhas originated from the wild, so they shouldnt have too much problems eating wild fish. Anyone got any experience with feeding their piranhas wild fish?

I've fed my piranhas wild caught bluegill. I also feed my Jardini and rtc/tsn wild caught bluegill once in a while.

feeding wild caught fish is fine but you are risking the chance of parasites. best to quarantine the wild caught fish or freeze it for a period of time to kill off as many parasites as possible. I have seen anchor worms on some of the blue gills I caught in the past so just be careful.
after the bluegill spawn i catch alot of 1"ish bluegills in my cast net that my florida gar loves. never had any problems with em, easier and alot cheaper than petstore feeders
