I feel like Christmas has lost its true meaning of holyness and religion...
I have some reasons why

-Christmas has been turned into those holidays where it is just SHOP, SHOP, AND SHOP! People care more about presents and become misled about the meaning of Christmas

-No one really goes Caroling... I think

-Kids seem to understand that Santa is imaginary at a younger age

-The only time Christmas is talked in religious terms is in church

Anyone feel that way or is it just me?

None of the above. I don't believe in anything, But i still celebrate Christmas. I do agree that it's getting way more involved about presents rather than religion.

Throughout human history there has been a midwinter celebration.people need something this time of year its cold and the days are short.Christmas along with the other christian holidays were just copied /coopted from ancient pagan holidays during forcible conversions.

I celebrate Christmas, its an excuse to give gifts make cookies and set aside a day for fun.IMO thats the true meaning of christmas.I love the chance to get something for a friend or loved one that they really want but wouldnt spend the money on for themself.Dont worry so much about others not seeing this holiday as you think they should, try to enjoy yourself, its better for you.

wait... wait... you're just feeling this now ? In 2007 ???

Oh man... its been this way for my entire life, and im 22.

I don't like, or believe in religion at all, and I celebrate Christmas. None of my family believes in god, and we all get together and celebrate, an entire family all my aunts, and uncles live in the same area and will till my grandmother and grandfather die (Thats the plan)

And not one of us believe.

Christmas for most people is about giving and receiving gifts, no more, no less.

i agree with rakie, personally my household is athiest but we still celebrate family, friends, and give gifts to each other to show our love and appreciation in them. AND i get hella stuff!!!

I don't believe in the religious side of christmas, nor do I see how christmas fits in with religion. My family use it to exchange gifts and meet up with those who we haven't seen all year since we are spread out over the country. Christmas is now a consumer product with little to no religous meaning (depending on your location in the world, none here in AUS from what I see).

I'm pro christmas, but against it having any religious meaning in my life.

why does religion come into christmas when jesus was born in april?

he wasn't born in april, he rose from the dead in april.

i am a born again christian, i could'nt care less about gifts. if i get anything this year..it's going to be things i buy myself, probably some fish, and bird toys for my cockatoo.

christmas to me is about celebrating my lord and saviors birth, and being able to spend time with my family, i see most outside family members twice a year..its good to sit around a table and laugh with them...you never know who may not be there next year..this year we wont have my grandfather with us, but we know he'll be there in spirit.

this world is a screwed up place..everything is currupted..but i enjoy the holidays simply because i get to be with my family, and praise and give thanks to my lord and savior, jesus christ. :)

Im 19 and i still beleive in santa, and i almost hit somone with a shovel when they were talkin about making santa skinny last night on WORLD NEWS! I definateky think xmas has become all commercialized and the true meaning is lost. I think its sad how few people know what it really means. People need to realize its not just about the presents when they do xmas will be alot more meaningful, but chances are that will never happen...

excactly, why are we getting presents on his birthday. and smpage might be talking about something i heard on history channel a few years ago about how they think that he was born in the summer since if he was born in winter why were there shepards in the fields with their sheep.
