i watched 15 baby newborn possums slowly die and there was nothing i could do about.

ther night before there mother got into my chinchilla cage and killed my last and oldest chinchilla of 12 years, my dad beat and killed her with a metal baseball bat and beat her out of anger even when she was well beyond dead.

come the next morning, ( he left her body in the open that night) 15 of her babys are out of the pouch covered in moms ****!, half an hour later as i stuggle for a way to help them, my dads throws them in a plastic bag and into the garage while they are still alive, i went off on him. and told him why he coulod call a wildlife rescue to care for them, he said he would be fined if they found out he killed the mother.

thinking back i should have turned his ass in! and they babys would probably still be alive today.

My mother on a positive note, did foster 3 baby finches(pretty thats what they where) when we found them abandoned by the mother in a nest right in our front yard.

I am sorry for you that you went through this ordeal but i am very proud that you knew it was wrong.. of course your Dad just let his temper get the best of him because it is certainly a bad thing what he did but especially in front of his son.. some things you just have to let go of though.. look at all the good you have done and try to forget the bad. :(

Just tonight I rescued 3 fish at the lfs. Someone gave us a hatchetfish, clown loach, and a Kissing Gourami. I put the CL with the multitudes I have now. I paired the hatchetfish with my FW Barracuda, and the Gourami with my oscar. I am a hero!
