Anyone from Ohio know where to find great Oscars???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
wow i never been to The Aquarium Adventures in Brooklyn, OH... sucks that you feel that way about that store. the one in columbus is huge, clean, great selection, and awesome clerks. maybe you should come down here and see what a AA is suppose to look like.

dont quote me, but on the AA webpage, i dont think it lists an ohio location other than columbus and ?cleveland? or maybe ?cincinnati? ...

i dont think that it would be affiliated with the columbus store, because i dont think anyone could say they arent knowledgable there, or that they dont care about fish.

they probably just share the name with a smaller store, but i could be wrong.
the columbus store is top of the line, the only issue i would say is that they can be a little overpriced sometimes.

AA is a nice store i just never see anything special when i go. Do ya'll?

it all depends what kind of fish you like best ... in general i like that they have almost every fish in one location, there is no guessing week to week what they will or wont have, like most LFS.
i also like that they have many large show tanks setup (if you haven't seen the new 800 gallon saltwater tank, its enough to make anyone jealous, and i dont even like saltwater)
a few months ago they even had a small ariapima giga (sp?)

and last they have a decent selection of larger fish, so you dont always have to grow everything out before it can go into a tank with larger predators

No, no. They are connected. BUT strange I would just vent on this thread... My financee made plans for us to see the Columbus Zoo tomorrow.... I can't pass up going to AA while I'm there. I will def. see the hype. Hope it't just how you all say. I'm really excited.

gotcha, now i understand. sorry to hear you store isnt that nice. i hope you like the columbus location!
and the zoo aquarium is decent, although mainly saltwater... i hear they used to have a freshwater exibit that was pretty nice, but they no longer have it ...

also, i thought since i basically derailed the post about oscars...

i was at jacks at easton today, and they only had one albino, it about maybe 5" and they were asking $20-$25 i think.

Try RMS aquaculture if you are near cleveland they are much much less expensive than Adventure. Either RMS willoby or middleburg is more than likley to have at least 5 tanks of different kinds of O's. Albinos are around 8bucks.
