Funny you brought that up PetSpoiler as I have always wondered why Lincoln's image on the penny faces the opposite direction from the images on the other coins....

It was supposedly his good side. There were no photos, only artist renderings. I believe they chose the face on the penny based on a plaque from a well respected portraitist. Would love further confirmation of this though...
