Anyone got the banned list of fish for the UK???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes most of them are,,,you asked for a list of banned fish,,,did you mean tropical,,try seaching on google,,thats where i found these links

I doubt tropical species can survive well in UK's climate hence for this reason, most of the fish banned are temperate to coldwater.;)

The DEFRA website has a complete list...though I wouldnt worry about it very much.

ive read somewhere that were trying to ban keeping snake fish in england,,,you would really be suprised as they found that snake fish in the river resently also my local river way has a population now of terripins and ive also heard that a few individuals have caught pihrana in our rivers,,,fish are quite stong willed and could survive and adapt

1st the snakehead caught has been proven to be a hoax ,the guy confessed to it , 2nd the upcoming ban on snakeheads is a import of wild stock ban and it Europe wide , it dos not just include snakeheads but spiney eels ,barbs freshwater sharks and others , also its nothing to do with fear of being released, it is because the wild stock can carry diseases (khc and eus) that they are trying to stop the spread of , below are the two lists 1st coldwater non-native threat list and then control of disease list
