Anyone had any luck keeping convicts with a Jaguar?

Could try it while your jag is growing, Ive kept convicts with many larger aggressive cichlids, they are tough buggers. Whether they can keep an adult male jag confined to part of the tank, I am not so sure. But they will probably try. They may get killed in the process.
At the end of the day though, when your jag is a full grown adult it will make the 125 look smaller than it is. Will need the whole tank

Thanks for the advice, I think I might leave him solo then. Main goal was to have something that would cleanup his crumbs. Messy eater lol

It's only messy if the jag cannot swallow the food whole. Feed something smaller if you want less mess.
Totally agree with this, and it's how I feed all my cichlids. Feed a pellet just small enough for them to swallow it whole.

I feed my boy Casper extra large NLS floating pellets. There is never any crumbs or chewing of the pellets,

Agreed, I feed small pellets/granules relative to fish size. I buy in bulk and just feed more of them at a time. The fish will come up for them at the surface, and then scavenge them all up off the bottom, especially once they are used to it (I use sinking foods). I do this for all my fish large or small. And I keep everything from endlers, guppies and shrimp, all the way up to two breeding pair of dovii. Once you get used to how much food each tank consumes you can feed just by habit and they will clean it all up. Also I highly recommend Malaysian trumpet snails as clean up crews for cichlids. They will literally get every scrap of food left behind and self regulate their own population.
