right i have read your book

water changes were on a 24 hour drip
hospital tank mmmmm for 3 x 16 inch rays im a hobbyist not a breeder
you then say flowers with black ray i dont have any flowers

Unless you have hacked into my publishers system I doubt it, nor have you seen the movie ( both due out in 2011/2012).

The difference between professional and amateur is attitude and how you deal with problems. Not being a 'breeder' is no excuse for not being prepared.
If you don't have a quarantine or hospital tank then you are underprepared, no matter what you think your status is , and that is a large risk considering the value of your stock, be they Flowers or any other rays.

btw, esha 2000 contains copper, but don;t worry about it...rays love copper right?!
I D B T
Identify Disease Before Treatment.
You have no idea what you are treating for. You are just firing a shotgun in the general direction of something, this usually results in collateral damage.
Lets see what happens in the next 2 weeks.

as you are such a pro what would you say is wrong its all very well dishing out advice on what not to do but what should be done that was the ?

who has a hospital as big as the tank they keep the fish in not many i would say

and ehsa 2000 is ray safe i have used it many times in the past its a multi purpose treatment with no copper i even called esha the 1st time i used it 6 years ago

i watched the video and feel terrible for them p14.i hope for their sake you find the correct solution..they are really breathing hard and fast.

the idea of raising the temp so high is not advisable.i really think you are going to harm them by doing that..sorry i'm no help, wish you success in helping your rays.

eSha 2000
6.3 mg ethacridine lactate (Rivanol)
1 mg proflavin
3.2 mg copper ++
0.26 mg methyl orange

do your own web search if you don't believe me.

I have told you what to do but I know you have trouble reading so I'll break it down for you again:

Put your sick fish in a Q tank if you can.
Lower the temperature to a maximum of 80-82F
change 50% or more water every day, use AGED water with NO chems or conditioner treatments.
STOP with the shot-in-the-dark meds.
put a HUGE carbon filter on the tank with fresh carbon.
Vary their diet
Identify Disease Before Treatment

As I said, lets see what happens in the next 2 weeks

SRSLY
ppl on this thread aren't helping
Richard bro

Well i dont have a Q tank big enought for 3 x 16inch disk rays so thats not going to happen

temp is being dropped as i type

fresh carbon was put in the HMA filter last week

carbon and polyfilter were change in the sump less than a week ago

the way you put it is like lets see what happens in 2 weeks its like you are hoping they dont get better so you can say i told you so

Do you have carbon in system now and polyfilter? If so it will remove any medication and render it useless.

I think this is water quality issue only, I have seen thousands of stingrays and treated for parasites and never once seen any.

I would keep with large water changes, but before you do that make sure there is nothing coming from your tap water even if that means you have it testedby company for metals, chlorine and chloramine etc do it just few hundred dollars and worth knowing what exactly is in your water first.

Highest temp I would go is 86-88, I have seen rays handle much higher during treatments but I cant say how good or bad it is on animals.

I treat with three products only Binox, salt and prazi for parasites.

Good luck man terrible to see this happen but we all go thru it in end, do water changes and keep tank dark not much light to help with stress.

that would be you projecting, so perhaps that is what you are expecting will happen?.
If I wasn't concerned about your rays I wouldn't have bothered to post.
Go change some water.
I hope your rays will survive this, and that you will learn from it, I expect the former and doubt the latter.
