HELLO DO U FIGURE THERE WOULD BE A HUGE TEMP CHANGE FOR THE LARGE MOUTH IN NORTH BAY ONTARIO CANADA, COULD I ADAPT THE LARGE MOUTH TO TROPICAL TEMP. I FIGURED I WOULD NEED A CHILLER TO HOUSE ONE HERE.
The LMB I had was northern strain and lived in a tank with Cichla that was 87 degrees. It did fine but would have done much better in a tank less than 80 degrees. Youre just begging for parasite infections if you run a predator tank under 78. Thats part of what makes keeping native predators so challenging. They prefer temps in the upper 60's to low 70's but in a captive environment its difficult to keep them healthy at those temps.
