Anyone have Adult "Midas" from Petsmart

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is Red Devil right or at least carries more Red Devil genes than Midas? I might keep him instead of getting a Midas but hes being a picky little git who won't eat his food. He might have nice nuchal potential but he won't eat so I don't know.

Sorry couldn't find my old phone so I don't have any pics. But I also purchased one from Petsmart a few years back and it also looked identical as the pic WickedMidas put up.

This was my beast 15-16" of evil, cant tell you how many time i got bit while doing maintenance . he lived alone in a 90 gal tank refused to play nice with others
he's better than every fish in the Amphilophous fam

Unless you get a fish from a solid line, there is no way to garentee the size of the hump. Since genetics plays a major role in final size a fish of mixed lineage is a crap shoot. If you truly want a fish with a large nauchal hump and you plan on keeping it in a 75 consider getting a Xilo thay don't grow to tank buster size and males have very impressive humps. I understand shipping cost is a concern but in most cases you get what you pay for. Labiatus don't get the large NHs you see on the Cits or the Xilos. Look at Psycho he's a big RD with a decent NH for a Devil but it's nothing compared to the NH on Jason's Xilos. Just somthing to consider.

:iagree:I have a male that is now 11" that does not have a large hump, just a slight. Seems to be growing everywhere else, but its slowly getting larger.

I am still considering Rapps, I might be able to do a group buy thing. I don't mind spending like $60 on shipping but $100 just seems too much.

Any pics of adult Xilos?

I have never seen a good quality midas at petsmart. Absoluetly nothing close to the picture they have in front of the tanks.
