Anyone have experience with Bullheads?

Could anyone give me some info about them? Max size, temperment and all that. Ive read they are serious fin nippers and they grow over a foot. But Ive also heard they grow under a foot too.

Well in the wild I have seen them up to around 15" but they might not get that big in a home setup.

When I was starting out I kept one in a CA cichlid tank with smaller species (JD's, firemouths) and it was occasionally nipped at, but otherwise no problems with aggression.

DO they try and nip fins though? Whats a realistic max size for them, I get mixed answers on that.

You'll probably see up to 12" in aquaria depending on how its taken care of, there's possibility for more depending on genetics, feeding, Water quality, and all that jazz...

12'' to 15'' sounds about right. my bull eats when ever there is food. really chill fish.

That is crazy. my 8 inch bullhead has to be hand fed in his cave at night, never comes out during the day and isn't very active at night.....maybe i got a retard?

I did that for a while...so he decided to hide inbetween the glass and the powerhead all day.
