i have a friend that told me this fish is actually the end result of a lot of in-breeding...it kind of made me mad because this fish looks so cool, but i can still appreciate the POSSIBLE plausibility of his claim.

is there a separate scientific name for the leopard CK? chitala leopardus or something lol

No it's just a regular clown knife that came out crazy patterned. Leopard CK is more rare than leopard gold CK.

For my opinion.
Effect of inbreeding is short body, spiral, ugly shape, not leopard.
Only 1 in 10,000 or 100,000 Juv CK will change pattern to leopard CK when bigger.
But many spots CK have more chance to develop to leopard CK.
The last thing this fish not string like normal CK, slow growth rate and easy to die!

2 years ago, I got 1 leopard CK and dead a week later. Maybe it is only once time in my life to got it.

Hi ole can you tell me whats the market price for leopard clown knifefish in thailand. Since is a rare species any breeding in thailand between two leopard knife pair to mass breed this fish to support the ever growing demand for new exotic knife fishes.

No market price because no fish sold in LFS now. Normally I order to merchant/collector and wait. But as I know, they have order from Japanese keeper already.
