Anyone have there trimac over black substrate??

i always go with pool filter sand it never gets in the filters

here are mine they are in their breeding colors but take the black bars off and thats the color they keep with the black substrate

x2 for pool filter sand,i have it in a grow out tank,i like the larger grain size.my trimac tank,a 75 has gray gravel with a painted black tank bottom.his colors look good.http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k483/dandv207/A005.jpg

The male in the video is just spectacular. I really want a trimac for myself.

It doesn't seem to change the color as much as some other cichlids go with whatever color you like and don't look back

that trimac looks like a beast!

I like the look of fish with black gravel. THe light seems to reflect off of the fish and not as much the substrate underneath. .... one thing positive about the lighter substrate is that the fish's underneath side seems to get more visable light.

I like the look of black sand in the tank...but I have some fish over black now and it totally messes up there color. But it seems like the trimac doesn't change too much. I might try the black sand and see how it goes.

That's one of the nicest looking Trimac's I've seen. Almost makes me want to get one for myself.....Almost.
