Anyone hear have tiretrack (spiny)eels, or fire eels?

I enjoy fire eels and tire tracks- my fire eel was only 4-5 inches, but was completley responsive to me- would come out any time of the day for food and attention. Unfortunately it was also very curious and figured out how to get into the outflow line on the filter- was pretty squished when I found it.
The tire track was in the same tank- and the fire eel would someitmes bully it, but not too badly. The fire eel ONLY ate blood worms, where the tire track ate any forzen foods.

I highly recomend them- they are great fish.

I have never owned ether, but I know a bit on the subject. fire eels grow larger and are the ones I prefere. tire tracks are more aggresive

does anyone know how to bulk up a tiretrack? ive got a 6" one that will only eat live ghost shrimp, ive tried the beefhearts my bichirs love, but it doesnt seem interested

You could try live black worms. My little tire track loves them as well as frozen bloodworms and frozen mysis shrimp. Try the black worms I seriously doubt he will reject those.

Had both FE and TT eels. Doubt if I'll ever have another TT eel, but I would definately consider getting another fire eel. Easy to keep IMO and I like the way they look. Mine hid almost all the time but his head was always peering out in view. A well cared for fire eel will usually have some seriously red markings that I can't resist appreciating.

a lfs near me has some 15" fire eels that I am considering but I was wondering if they like to bury themselves all the time or not? I have plenty of hiding spots for him above the gravel but would he use them
