I have no idea then, because i went back to the place I bought them and they are just labelled Surinamensis.
True surinamensis are rarely collected from the wild. There are lots of fish that are imported and sold as "surinamensis", but usually they are another species from the complex. Jason's link is a good read.
I never said wild caught. But that is probably the case.
