Anyone here tried using suction cups to anchor driftwoods? The wood won't sink and stacking the rocks on the driftwood seem unstable. I anchored down the plants with six suction cups. Is this a good idea or bad?

bump. anyone else?

try it and let us know. im having the same problems. u could always tie a big piece of slate around the bottom of the wood.
I used fishing line and tied it to these. I mounted it to my tank with these tank divider holders. So far so good.

did you submerge it in water for a few weeks prior to putting it in the tank? gotta let it soak up the water...

Ya, the piece of driftwood was soaked in water for two weeks before going into the tank. Unfortunately, I don't have a 4 1/2 ft trash can so I was able to soak only 3 1/2 ft at a time. I even scrubbed with daily with a wire brush to get all the sludge out.

Knowda, thanks for the link. Only problem with those magnet clips is I'm afraid the clips might pop out.

I cut some pieces of clear acrylic and drilled some holes in it. Then I drilled some small holes in the drift wood and used cable ties to tie it down to the acylic. Its pretty elaborate but it works good for what i needed.
