Anyone ID this turtle..

A lot of painted turtles I come across have a reddish brown deposit that encrusts the plastron of their shell. It's pretty easy to scrape off though.

i see.. thats just deposits then... i would have loved to keep her.. but it would not be right... so i feel good that i did not do anything to regret..

Painted are protected in NY so just watch and dont touch

Ditto. You have a garden pond. With that female and your 2 boys you could easily make a small breeding colony
