I had a budgee for a while, I got it when I was 2, I got him as an adult, and i don't know when exactly he was born, but I lost him a few years ago, he lived for about 15 years. 
I got him to perch on my shoulder and sit on my hand. when i was 5, i shot it with one of those guns that shoot those rubber suction cups, I dont remeber what I was thinking.
I dont have any birds now though, and i'm probably not going to get any more anytime soon.

Here are just pics to show my setup
Here is my window feeder. What he is sittin on is plexy glass. When it snows or rains I can slide that piece in to cover the food. When it is sunny I can remove it. It is also very easy to clean, with several drain wholes in the bottom of iit so when it rains it can run off or fall through.
This is an old stick, I now have the 6 foot pole, but you can get the picture of what it looks like. I got the pvc pipe holding it up, and all the feeders hanging down from it. As it also serves as a spot for the birds to sit. You can see how it is right next to the window feeder.
