Anyone into kung fu movies??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Kill Bill was a revenge kung-fu movie about assassins that are kung-fu masters.some of the scenes were stylized in a tribute sense.most of the fights had a realistic feel though. The directing and storytelling were superb,as well as the choreography.

i agree, kill bill has a good story, good actors

good movie for an american made martial arts movie

I have recently found out that the main bad guy in my favorite Kung Fu film,"The Kid with the Golden Arm"also has a role in Ip Man 2.

Yep that was Lo Meng, he and Fong Hak On made appeareances in Ip Man 2. You may not recognize them at first, but when you do, you'll trip out at seeing these guys almost 40 years later, Lo Meng, still doin his Praying Mantis Kung Fu. That was one of the best parts of the movie for me. Go and see the Ip Man series!!

Excellent,Lo Meng came here to attend a convention a few years ago but I couldn't make it.Also,Joseph Kwok aka Kuo Chui starred in the John Woo shootfest Hard Boiled,as an assassin and he did coreography for Brotherhood of the Wolf, another favorite movie of mine......I was in FYE the other day and came very close to purchasing the first two Ip Man movies on DVD but I got a Shaw Brothers boxed set instead.

Thanks for the clear up, it sounds kinda, "Meh!" to me, I see it cheap here and there, I'll wait for a deal. I keep hearing Iron Monkey is good, that's the one I'm looking for today.

Iron Monkey is good...There is also a movie that came out in the eighties with the same title which starred Chen Kuan Tai and is also a good film.

I'll check them both out, Chen Kuan Tai is one of my gf favorites.
I get alot of my dvds from FYE also, but pulled a rookie mistake the other day. I got all stoked up on what I thought was a Gordon Liu 5 movie box set, turned out to be Gordon Liu saying, " I'm Gordon Liu, you're watching VIDEO ASIA!"" or something like that at the begining of every movie. I shoulda realized the language on the box, it said "Gordon Liu Presents" it didn't mention anything about him staring in any of the movies.

definitely recommend iron monkey

unless i'm mistaken they had made part 2 but i don't know if it was any good

the guy that plays iron monkey is the guy that plays the master of the dojo of the bad guys (kids) in the new karate kid movie with will smith's son. i thought it was cool how they put in wong fei hung in that movie (iron monkey) but he was a kid. funny thing is, the kid that plays wong fei hung is a girl in real life. i never knew that until not long ago

T here is a movie called Iron Monkey 2 and I bought it based on my enjoyment of the first one.Don't waste your time or money on it.
