Anyone into metalcore?

So, a buddy of mine has been trying to get me to listen to metalcore for the longest time. I hate it, all of it. It is just mass, commercial mtv popmetal, absolutely worthless.


Anyway. I was in his car, and he was playing Atreyu. Now, I was like "WTF. The music (not the vocals) is somewhat decent. I know I have heard this somewhere...."

It was killing me. I knew I had heard the song somewhere, but I couldn't figure it out. Finally, after several hours of flipping through the ipod, I got it.





Tell me this I'm not going crazy on this one:

So, it seems like metalcore is ripping off real metal now. Terrific.

hey i liked atreyu's SUICIDE NOTES AND BUTTERFLY KISSES. but ill have to agree with you on most metalcore and its poppyness.

yea they do sound alot alike and maby they did rip it off but its w/e. alout of music kinda sounds the same sometimes.

come to tampa you dont hear anything good on the radio, our alternative station plays the same thing or rock station does, our rock station plays the same thing as our classic rock station, so i listen to anything now a days even poppy metal core and etc.

not around here, suburbs of philly has been overtaken with the douchiest pop and hip hop pop one can possibly imageing, it's litterally like punching yourself in the face reapedatly. they will play the same 5 crapbag songs over and over all day, i know simply because a buddy of mine enjoys it in his car, and when i say 5 of the same songs all day, i say that in complete seriousness.

Metal's great. Hardcore is great. They just don't make a great combination. And I may be skinny, but I'd fight Atreyu any day.
