Anyone into motorcycles?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lol, it's all torque... Kinda like an old American V8, great fun but not too mental. The zx6r just wants to scream at 15k rpm everywhere and begs you to push the limits of experience haha

Yep, that's why I was looking at the ZX-6R; compared to other 600's in the class the Kwaks were always more mental. I was previously in love with the 636 but couldn't find a good one here back then.

I started out on minibikes, then a real monkeybike, then a Lambretta 150, a Yamaha 180, Honda XL350, Honda CM450T, a KZ900 which I modded in the 70's.

I don't have pics of the other bikes. There was this divorce in the 80's . . .

Eventually I bought the Nomad 1500Fi.

This is a 2004 model which I bought Aug 15, 2003. I remember the exact day because I paid cash. We've been all over the west coast on this bike, but it's been sitting a year with a roasted clutch, because I've been too busy with home remodeling to tear it down. I roasted the bevel drive output bearing too a couple years back. Not many performance mods. An aux computer, glasspack system and the dual low restriction filters. Mostly dresser gear for this porky roadhog.

Even if you've ridden an Electraglide, it's hard to "get" this bike right away. It's considerably heavier, longer taller, wider, more goose, more stretch, more rake, and not as fast on the top end. It was designed to be a heavier-duty police bike, with a dual alternator and dual regulator. But it's just too heavy in town for a police bike. Just fine for parades.

My eldest granddaughter gets her first ride. She's a freshman at Cal State now.

That's me and the Mrs in front.

I liked the V-Rod.I wanted one.

Sounds like you need an Africa twin, dct, traction control, cornering abs. safe as biking can be.
