there is a lot of outdated info out there about keeping discus. old wivestales that were never true and need to be stopped. I have a 120 gal. with wild discus. my ph is 7.6 but very stable. temp is 82-83. water changes 70% and done weekly with tap water and Prime. fed twice per day with different quality foods. I have 25 lemon tetras and 12 cories. no plants. just a lot of wood. many people would have you believe that a tank like this will not last, yet my fish are all around 7" and I have never medicated them for anything. for one your tank is really too large for growing out juvies. you will need to do massive wc's at least every other day and thats a lot of water. keeping adults is much easier than juvies. more expensive but really not much in the long run. go to the discus section here or to simplydiscus.com and learn everything you can before buying any fish. they are high maintenence and takes a comittment, but really not as difficult as some would have you believe.
