I saw them at a LFS yesterday and thought they were really nice looking. They looked like a cooler version of angle fish. I came home and googled them(learned my lesson on taking the LFS's info on the care of any fish). I found one site that said they would eventually need high end brackish to full marine. Is that true?

Like scats they do go to full salt as they get bigger.

don't let salt level scare you cause it is the perfect scenario cause you can slowly buy the salt water equipment wet/dry , skimmer.... that is the reason I got into brackish it is one of the most untouched of aquarium setups

okay but there are whole systems at LFS's in my area that keep their tanks at 1.016-1.017.

its not as deadly as you might think.

1.022 and up is what most of the reef guys around here keep their tanks at.

Where I used to work, our systems were kept at 1.018. Our coral tanks were 1.023-25. No problems whatsoever.

All I am saying is that there is room for slight variation and you can still have healthy inhabitants.

:)

I would never buy from this store have fun for the beginner to acclimate and the stress levels of not acclamation properly will cause more sick fish then healthy your local fish store is wacky just my opinion
