What I mean by that I'd does anyone have a tank full of schooling fish but lots of different species?

For example I was thinking a tank full of Roseline sharks, rummynose tetras, Gold barbs, hatchets, pygmy corys, sterbi Cories all with like 15-20 of each species would be cool. Lots of action at all levels planted would make it look even better.... Thoughts?

I've keep a big group of tiger barns with a small group of Cory cats. It was fun.

The barbs I still have. They're in a 45 gallon 48x18 tank. In hindsight, I wish I gone with a small species.

I’ve not done it personally but know of many others who have in planted tanks...

As much as I love my bichirs and cats I would love a tank just full of action

Most schooling fish only school when they are new. Once they get familiarized with the environment, they break up. A few exception include blood fin tetra, rummynose, rasboro, mostly small fish except clown loach. I had several large cL continue to school despite old age and large size 7 to 9 inch.
