Cool catfish. Move around a lot too.

I love watching these things scream around the 300.... They're soooo fast, seem to stick to formation, don't get huge, not pigs - rays still get to eat, I friggin love these lil buggers.....

Almost makes we wanna try a Tig or 2...... lol

Lol a tig is much different than them. Larger, not as active, can be territorial, can be picky eaters, looks quite different, can be sensitive.. someone who's kept them can probably tell you more

Makes me want to give them a shot, I think a school that big is pricey though

Pricey compared to?? I bet still cheaper then a decent sized Tig.....

I'm just not really much of a catfish guy - hard to judge how well you like a fish without knowing the personality - IF Tigs are more like Goonch in just sitting there maybe I'd just get more of these little things..... What would be neat is some mini Lince! lol. I love my Lince more then anything cause of how active it is, but so big it needs a much larger tank then even the 750 I have it in. Its rare to find catfish that are active- I wish I could find more.......

Here are some pics of the 300.......

Nice, I miss my ornate, have a big blochii now and the malarmo's little brother... hmmm name escapes me but that thing is awesome, always out cruising, max out around 12 inch and whiskers 2x the body length... worth a look, other active cats I like are Suncats and any pangasius?

Ornate pims are not that pricey when small - IIRC the ones I bought from Rapps were only $20 at 2"-3".

TBTB: Tigs are rather sedentary but boy are they striking.

TBTB: Check out vulture catfish, if you will. They are precisely what you would be looking for.

TBTB: That's an admirable admission in my book :)

TBTB: There is this too-common-hence-unappreciated fish called iridescent shark catfish...

For some reason I thought I saw them on his list for for $100 for 4" but I am probably remembering incorrectly. I'll keep my eyes out then, though they might end up food sized for a black ray down the road.
