I used to keep them but they got killed....I miss them and they eat lots of pellots...I divided my tank for them but they jumped across and got eatten. I beleive I have pics in the photo gallery on this site.. They were like 8 inches including the snout...i do want to try to raise them again....anyone have them available??

yea i was intrested in a paddlefish to can we even keep them. i jus heard they were endanger or sumthing.

They are either threatened or endangered all over. One of the coolest fish around, but only suitable for ponds or streams. They get huge, and don't do well at all in tanks in the long run. There was a breeding program at Parks and Wildlife that was abandoned because a)they are tough to keep in captivity even at a hatchery and b)unfortunately there aren't a lot of good places for them in the wild in Texas anymore, but you can still find them in the eastern part of the state.

I bought 5 from Mckenzie's Fish Farm and 2 survived to a little over 4 ft in a 18ft diameter kiddie pool with a 4ft fence around it. When I transferred to another destroyer, I tried selling then, giving them away with no takers. Hated to do it but, had a 'fish-fry' party before having to move to the ship.
They ate krill, plankton, salmon pellets, earthworms, bloodworms, Bshrimp, chopped squid, flake, chopped chicken/beef hearts... pretty much anything I threw in was investigated as a potential food item.
