Anyone keeping flathead or blue cats?

Yes Sir....I look forward to the channel cat run every year. I fish Pt. Burwell (Canada) on Lake Erie....incredible size of some we've caught. I did some research after the fact and they said that flatheads live in lake St. Clair and a small distribution in Erie by Detroit. Its still hard for me to believe they exist considering that there is no evidence on any forum about them being here. If there is a population it must be very very small....or maybe extinct.

Erie catfish are a myth, lol. I've fished erie for my entire life both onshore and on my boat and have never seen so much as a hint of a catfish for all the time I spend looking for them. Whereas I can go to my local lake on a Friday night and catch 4 dozen bullheads and head to the allegheny and get a half dozen channels and a few flatheads.

Better than I've done haha, Lake Arthur has bullheads big enough to take the bait I have rigged for channels so I RARELY pull one up, and flatheads are a lie in there as far as I'm concerned haha, never saw anyone including myself pull one out.

I haven't fished Arthur much, just one time I believe, and all I caught were gills and a couple of LMBs. I'll have to give it another shot this summer. I know one lake around me that'd full of giant bullheads, my PB was caught there at 14" 3 pounds but it's unfortunately private.

I've pulled 14"ers out of Arthur quite a few times, especially by the dams were I really truly assumed I'd catch nothing but big channels, nope, just bullheads big enough to mouth a filleted bluegill...lol

in the past i have had albino channels and also some bull heads but never any blues only have caught one flat head while fishing my whole life and it was caught on a live cataba catapillar
have seen some big ones come out of the lake and river system where i caught mine
