Anyone keeping suncats?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have had my pair for about 7 weeks now and they have grown a good 2 inches and gotten a lot thicker as well.I can't wait till they get their adult color though.
I was going to get another pair a couple days ago and ended up passing on them. The ones in the LFS have not grown at all.

ths silver one doesn't look very good, but damn that yellow one is sweet!

They are actually the same fish. Just 6-8months older.

The fish is strictly a scavenger, he lives in a tank with a large oscar and an arrowana so he gets lots of scrapes. He does not even try to compete with eating with the oscar, however the oscar is very messy so he does quite well.
Foods including algea wafers, sinking shrimp pellets, cichlid sticks and floating pellets.

I've got one right now and am looking into buying either 1 or 2 more, pretty docile catfish with some nice color both pics are of the same fish ~Trent

WOW! ur fish sure do grow slow.... i had 2 in a 29 gal. did a 50% waterchange every friday (once a week) and they grew from 1 1/2"- 6" in like 8 months, then i had to give them away.
