I know emperor scorpions are good selections for beginners, but my friend had an emporer and it didn't sting often. So we put a mantis in with it that was bigger than the scorp and well when we came back later it ate the scorpion. If I get one I want an aggressive species.

Emp's are pretty tame i had to till i added them to my collection! :D

I resized it abit so I could see all of it at once.
The ones I have eaten have a slightly vinegary flavor like meal worms, mainly they taste like the oil they are fried in.
Here are a couple of pics of two very dangerous ones from the mideast/north africa, they are the yellow fattail scorpion (Androctomus australis) guilty of causing more annual deaths than any other species, they can cause death in under 2 hours. And the even more toxic but less common Isreali yellow scorpioin, often called deathstalker (Leiurus quinquestriatus). The UV pic of the deathstalker is by Dr. Zoltan and the other two pics are from a Tour Egypt site.
The following site sells several species including these two.http://www.swiftinverts.com/scorps.htm

Thanks guppy, sorry the pic came out too big, if I'd've known it was gonna be that big I'd've resized it B4 hand. Thanks for the links, it's hard to find good pics of scorps if I had one I'd get some cool shots. I want a sleek looking good sized aggressive species if I get one.

a friend at work has been colecting scorpions for years now ,he's as crazy about them as we are about fish . they are awsome :headbang2 and its so cool to watch them eat , the coolest part is when u throw a couple crickets in the tank and the scorp grabs them both at the same time one in ecah claw and starts eating one while the other one is perfectly fine in the claw waiting it death DAM!!!! COULD U IMAGINE!!! . i dont know witch criket has it worse the one that being eaten first or the the one that's watching and knowing that he's next on the menu :barf::OMG::feedback:

i really don't think crickets think to much about things like that.

if we went about it like that, then i bet the toilet paper you blow your nose in is eternally grateful.

If a giant scorpion did that to humans, it'd be a different story lol.
