I watched a documentary on them and they said they were believed to have live spans of 25+ years. Not sure if that is proven or not.
Im looking at buying one this week do they require any special lighting or will a incadesent bulb work ok
Lighting is not an issue. Actually, the less light you have on them the more you will see them. I would just use a heat pad under one end of the tank. For a substrate, I use coconut husk. Its cheap and it holds moisture well. I have seen people use sand before but I would only use that for desert species. Sand tends to get mold on it when it is moist. A shelter also is a good idea (bark, rochs, branches).fishnutham said:

Ex. I have been stung by bees hundreds of times. Some people could die from one.
