i really don't think crickets think to much about things like that.

if we went about it like that, then i bet the toilet paper you blow your nose in is eternally grateful.

If a giant scorpion did that to humans, it'd be a different story lol.
  ok so if a Giant scorpion picked u and ur friend up for lunch would u rather be eaten first or would u rather watch for a bit- ive seen them eat dude they are nasty eaters

I think I saw that movie.

I kept a brown bark scorpion for three years before giving it away.

My friend has had an emporer for nearly 10 years. He got it as a 1/2 in baby.

Im looking at buying one this week do they require any special lighting or will a incadesent bulb work ok
Lighting is not an issue. Actually, the less light you have on them the more you will see them. I would just use a heat pad under one end of the tank. For a substrate, I use coconut husk. Its cheap and it holds moisture well. I have seen people use sand before but I would only use that for desert species. Sand tends to get mold on it when it is moist. A shelter also is a good idea (bark, rochs, branches).

One more thing. People have different reactions to venom. Although you may have seen your scorpion sting someone else and have no effect, you might have a reaction to the venom. Most often this is not the case, but be aware it can happen.

Ex. I have been stung by bees hundreds of times. Some people could die from one.
