Put one hand on the quick disconnect piece and the other one the release lever. Lift the release lever all the way up then the entire quick disconnect will come off easily.
thanks guys! a successful filter clean! however, it was a major pain!!!!! i had to re-prime the whole thing... it's supposed to fill up with water on its own as far as i know.

Yes correct. I never had to re prime mine either. One more thing. How do you guys do the whole quote with the originally posted by. Like how Austin did it above me.
well.. i did it like in the video. but i think i that my water level was a bit low because i was doing a water change simultaneously so maybe there was not enough water in the tank to re-prime... not sure. but thanks for the video, that was very clear and helpful!
