I got this fish in trade for some of my others, I was told it was a Jaguar. In the tank at the store it looked really gold. I've never really seen one bigger than an inch in stores before. I looked in the profile thread and to me looks like the female.

Yeppers, that's a jag for sure. Very nice one too.

it's a jag. Too small to sex though.

I'm aware of that, I was just going by comparison of species. It resembled the female, but was just wanting to confirm it was indeed a Jag. Sex doesn't matter to me.

Thank you Chicklette.

No problem. Congrats! They are very shy at first, just give him time to adjust.

my stupid dogs rampaging through the house have been keeping mine pretty shy lately. might need to rearrange things.

anyway, that is a nice looking jag. It is still a coin toss, but if I were gonna bet on it, my money would be on male.

My nephews had my Dempsey's pretty skittish for a while. The Jag seems pretty content. Perhaps it will settle the Dempsey's down, if they don't settle soon I'm gonna get rid of all of em but my EBJD. He's a beautiful fish and I can't let myself part with him. Here is a pic of him. He's changed a lot since I got him.

That's cool. I'd lean male though. The dorsal is pretty ornate even at that size.
