I, along w/ lots of others love their Stealth heaters, and have had good experinces. Others have not and most likely we're all gonna replace them. I was wondering what is gonna happen to the Stealth line? Are they producing new, safe ones(my guess), or are they discontinuing them totally. I just can't find exactly what I want in other heaters, and I know Stealth works, but obviously I don't want to burn down my house. I find something, then turns out there's something bad about it, and it won't work. I'm assuming there are others w/ my same dilemma. Any answers or links would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe the heaters will end up in the scrapyard.

I'm sure Marineland will market the Stealth line aggressively and try to reinvent the unit to please the consumer, again...but more so on safety and such.
As for the typical fish-keeper, may be it will work but as far as Seasoned keepers concern, I highly doubt the Trust will ever be repaired.

If they're smart, they'll realize that the "Stealth" name is likely ruined for good, and will come out with a new line with a different name.

I'm having problems trusting ANY heater company. Everyone has a horror story. Glass ones break, can't find a good plastic one other than Stealth, and I was considering a metal one, but then someone posted a horror story on here of a metal one that caught fire and distroyed his setup, while he was away. Someone suggested a fluval e, but those can't be submerged apparently, so nothing seems to work or be safe anymore! How do I chose between all these? Holy crap...:irked:

I might install one of those gci thingys, and theoretically eleminate the fire issue. But still have to worry about exploding. So no glass. But might try metal if that's installed.

Any burn issues? Being metal, I assume they are good at taking abuse. I was checking out the "jbj titanium heating system". 800w is the size I need, I believe. It'll be by the fx5 outtake. Fairly safe from turtles, but not from oscars, and plecos. I can probably fashion some kind of guard for it if people suggest. And we will be installing the gci thingy. Just for an extra measure of safety.

Take the Stealths into Petsmart and trade them for Aqueon 250s. Look just like a stealth. ;)
